Green Instruments – The winner of Vendsyssel Initiative Prize 2017
DI Vendsyssel awards the Initiative Prize each year. The prize aims to honour to the small and medium companies focusing on a new initiative, creativity, innovation technology and growth to meet the environment compliance.
This year, Green Instruments has been selected to win the regional Prize and is among 18 candidates for the DI’s National Initiative Prize in Denmark.
Founded in 1999, Green Instruments was a small company which specializes in exhaust gas measuring and hazard detection equipment for marine industry. Over the years, Green Instruments has become a global leading supplier within its niche. The company is a pioneer in emission gas measuring instruments as well as instruments for monitoring wash water after exhaust gas cleaning systems on ocean going vessels.
The most important drive for Green Instruments’ development is the increasing focus on emission reduction globally. Tightening international and national regulations on emissions from ships are gradually being implemented. In order to achieve compliance with the environmental regulations, emission reduction and continuous emission monitoring solutions for gasses including NOx, SOx, CO2, PM and other polluting media are required. Seeing the trend, Green Instruments has invested heavily in product development to meet the demands of the coming regulations.
At the moment, Green Instruments becomes a familiar brand for the marine industry. Our products enable shipowners and engine manufacturers to document compliance with environmental requirements. The products of the company are sold worldwide. The G6100 Water Monitoring System, for example, is the only complete washwater monitoring system in the world which has achieved a marine type approval by the class societies.
Although the marine market develops rapidly, Green Instruments is also targeting the land based industries. With the products to enable the land-based plants to be greener, Green Instruments is confident to win the market in the near future.
DI Initiative Prize 2017 thus, becomes an important acknowledgement to the development of Green Instruments within the Green business.
